Let me start by introducing myself. My name is John Martin. I have
thirty-seven years of experience in the information technology field.
Most of this experience involved system development on large systems
in the San Francisco Bay Area. I started my career on IBM mainframes in
a DB2/CICS/COBOL environment and eventually moved to the Oracle/Unix platform to work on the SAP enterprise resource planning system.

I started as a programmer analyst developing financial applications for banks and moved on to developing human resource, logistics and manufacturing applications for several Fortune 500 companies. I've also been an IT consultant and worked on government systems for Alameda County in Oakland California and the City of Sacramento. In 2009 I decided to retire from full-time work on large systems and transition over to web development.

I have a BS degree in management from Babson College and an MBA from San Francisco State University.

My objective is to continue developing my skills in web development, graphic design and networking and work part-time as a web developer.
